Mentoring

• Five faculty members from each department in engineering and computer science engage in mentoring sessions — 3 one-hour sessions per semester.

• Students are matched to faculty members and other students in their department to make up groups called university families. Students are required to attend the mentoring sessions in order to be eligible for paid internships and conferences.

• Two of the mentoring sessions are pizza parties with all the department mentoring groups (university families).

Overall Goal for Mentoring Sessions:
To get to know students, build stronger relationships and help strengthen ties to majors and departments.
